Kitten Coffee

The Kitten Coffee Barista School opened in New York in September, 2007 offering two modules: i) Espresso 100 and ii) Advanced Espresso, delivering the fundamental skills required to produce excellent espresso. Since then we have trained literally hundreds of baristas who are now making wonderful coffee throughout New York, New Jersey and beyond.

The Kitten Coffee Barista School is located 20 minutes traveling time from Union Square, two blocks from the Bedford-Nostrand “G” Train equipped with contemporary espresso machines and grinders, audio visual equipment and all the Barista tools and consumables required to teach the theory and practice of being a Barista.

In Espresso 100 students receive step by step theory and hands on experience in all aspects of espresso based beverage production and the all important daily and weekly machine maintenance procedures.

In Advanced Espresso we  provide students with advanced espresso skills including automatic machine calibration, pressure managment/adjustment, advanced tamping, expanded espresso menu preparation, grinder calibration and grinder maintenance.

All students receive course materials that not only assist students in learning the basics of espresso making but also serve as valuable reference guides for when they are on the job - free to all our customers.  We also offer our classes to all espresso enthusiasts and professionals at $175 for each 3 hour class.
