Kitten Coffee is a Brooklyn based gourmet coffee roaster supplying premium espresso beans and regular coffees to the cafes, bars and restaurants of New York City since 2007.
Our philosophy is that truly great coffee, espresso and filter, is the end result of passion and hard work by the men and women who grow our beans, our guys who roast the beans, those who design, build and repair our machines and, finally, the men and women who make our coffee. It's a large and diverse group of dedicated individuals spread from Brazil, to Milan to BedStuy and beyond who we are proud to call comrades.
The job we have is to bring all of these together for our customers supplying them with the finest coffees, 24/7 technical support and New York's first and best dedicated barista training center. This isn't a promise. This is what we do.
Our Coffee is exclusively single origon micro-lot, sourced from a small group of coffee growers in Brazil who average no more than 300 bags a year. It is the best green bean we can find and produces the best roasted coffee we have ever tasted.
Our Roasters are two (relatively) young guys who wandered through our factory door here in Bed-Stuy following the aroma of freshly roasted coffee with a hunger to become involved in the gourmet coffee business.
Our Technical Support is provided by a team of two who not only repair these beautiful beasts but also design and fabricate custom espresso machines. We are also agents for La Marzocco, Nuovo Simonelli, Bunn, Fetco and Newco.
Our Training is hands down the best in New York. We have a dedicated barista training center and have trained well over a thousand baristas over the past five years. It has to be the best - our future is in the hands of our customers' baristas.
